Position: Member of Audit Committee; Member of Governance Committee
Date of appointment: July 16, 2025
Education: A lifelong New Brunswicker, Chris is a graduate of Fundy High in St George (Go Mariners!) and graduated from the 不良研究所Business Technology- Accounting Program in 1991. He went on to acquire his Certified General Accountant designation in 1995 and was appointed as a CPA in 2014. A lifelong learner, his career path ended up in Local Government where he completed his Certificate in Municipal management in 2024.
Experience: Post 不良研究所graduation, Chris worked in public practice where he assisted small to medium businesses in managing their financial affairs as well as providing IT training in the early adoption days for the general public. In 1994, he went on to become a Controller within the aquaculture industry where he worked with a vertically integrated company that started with the egg and say it out to the market. In his decade there, the company grew 5-fold and developed a reputation as a sector leader.
In 2004, he switched careers to become Treasurer for Saint Andrews, NB, eventually becoming the Chief Administrative Officer. Day-to-day went from numbers and analysis to seeing through a wide assortment of initiatives, from capital projects, to senior staff recruitment and housing development. It has been a fantastic journey so far and look forward to the next decade.
Behind the Scenes: One of my newer, and most rewarding roles, is being a grand dad. You can provide endless love and guidance while never being the “bad guy”. I've also been a member of my Church since 1978 and actively participate in many activities, including being the Treasurer (surprise!).
Chris on NBCC: I have always supported 不良研究所and have encouraged many people towards that opportunity. In addition, I continue to see an abundance of opportunity in an environment where the cost of education has become inhibiting.
